Former Indian Navy chief Admiral SM Nanda died in the capital following ill health. He was 94, naval officials said on Tuesday.
Nanda died at about 11 pm on Monday in Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj.
Officials said the funeral will take place at the Brar Square crematorium in Delhi Cantonment at about 4 pm on Tuesday.
Nanda, who served as the chief of naval staff from 1970 to 1973, was awarded the country's second highest civilian honour of Padma Vibhushan.
