Members of six mill workers' unions were protesting against the inconsistency in the houses reserved for mill workers in the MHADA lottery, and the price of the tenements on offer. There are 6,948 homes reserved for mill workers, while the mill workers exceed 1.5 lakh.u00a0
An officer attached to Bandra police station, said, "Since the protest was held during the peak hours of 10 am till 2 pm, the rasta roko created a major traffic congestion. We had to mind the traffic to ensure that at least ambulances coming from nearby hospitals get a free passage."
