Four militants were killed in separate encounters with security personnel in Imphal East and Bishenpur districts of Manipur, official sources said on Saturday.
A combined team of police commandos and Assam Rifles personnel raided Sanjenbam village in Imphal East district this morning following reports of movement of some militants, the sources said.
As they stepped up search operation, the militants fired at the forces and in the ensuing encounter an unidentified militant was killed while some others escaped.
One small arm was recovered from the victim, the sources said. In a separate incident in Bishenpur district, two militants were gunned during an encounter with security personnel at Potsangbam area yesterday, the sources said.

One 9mm pistol, some rounds of ammunition and two grenades were recovered from them, the sources said. In yet another incident, combined forces of commandos and Assam Rifles personnel shot dead another unidentified militant at Kumbi area in Bishenpur district yesterday, the sources said.
