Class XI students from upscale schools also filched credit cards to impress girls, say police
Their lust for good life and girls have landed four Class XI students from affluent families in trouble. The 16-year-olds, students of elite public schools, were arrested for their alleged involvement in a series of snatchings over the past seven months.
"They are from rich families who snatched to fund their luxurious lifestyles. With each incident their courage grew. They said they wanted to impress girls with money," a police official said.
The police said the accused, residents of Rohini Sector 7, were arrested at Prashant Vihar on Wednesday evening. The police were on the hunt after a woman complained of being robbed of her purse.
"Two are from Himalaya Public School and rest from DAV Public School in Rohini," the police said. Seven debit cards, six mobile phones, Rs 1,700 and two bikes a Bajaj Pulsar and a Hero Honda Karizma were recovered from them.
They have been sent to an observation home.
