Tonight, Oz jazz guitarist Frank Gambale will set the stage on fire, with his third show in India
The wizard of sweep picking Frank Gambale shredded the stage to bits when he visited India for the first time in 2006, along with other jazz biggies such as bassist Bunny Brunel, drummer Virgil Donati and keyboard player Mitch Forman.
The second time in 2007, Gambale engaged in a fiery duet with classical guitar virtuoso Maurizio Colonna in an intimate concert at Bandra's Seijo and Soul.

This year, the Frank Gambale Electric Project includes bassist Stuart Hamm and drummer Joel Taylor.
"This will be a set that's not for the squeamish, not for people with vertigo or pregnant women or anyone under four feet tall," jokes Gambale in an e-mail interview about his upcoming concert that will be held in Mumbai tomorrow.
Gambale, who cut his teeth with the Chick Corea Elektric Band, maintains that his six-year collaboration with the piano legend has been the most inspiring to date.
"I would have to say it's my wife Caterina and my nine-month-old daughter who are the inspiration, lately.
We have a wonderful new album that's almost finished with Caterina, a truly gifted singer. I'm putting together a new band to begin touring that music in the summer, in Europe," says the 52 year-old guitarist.
Interestingly, Gambale has released three versions - minus bass, piano and guitar,u00a0each - of his last album Natural Selection.
"It's a way to inspire young aspiring musicians to play along with the actual recording. I also plan to make available a pdf of the score," he explains.
Gambale, who has performed on three tracks for composer Sandeep Chowta's long overdue album in the making, Matters of the Heart, has forged a deep bond with India and Chowta.
"Sandy has become a dear friend so that collaboration goes beyond the music. We get together and jam and hone in on melodies through improvisation," says Gambale of Chowta.
