Alarming figures
The district administration also informed that from March 2012u00a0to April 2013, the administration had conducted HIV tests on 1,02,423 people (excluding pregnant woman) across the district. From these, 4,628 people had tested positive for HIV, while 241 pregnant woman were HIV positive out of the 30,448 screened for the virus in the district.u00a0Deshmukh added that various HIV awareness activities would also be undertaken at the taluka level on December 1, while in the city, workshops and awareness rallies would be held throughout the day.u00a0
