The victim's father said that Pramod (name changed on request) had problems at the IT firm he was working at and the anger and frustration caused him to take the extreme step of ending his life. Officials at Rabale police station rescued the man and registered a case after which his family was informed of the incident. Speaking of the incident, a sub-inspector said, "We got a call that a person had jumped into the creek from the bridge. So, we immediately rushed to the spot and borrowed a boat from the fishermen nearby and pulled him out."
He was then brought to the police station where his family was informed of the incident. Nasir Pathan, senior inspector, Rabale police station, said, "He was taken to Mahajan hospital in Airoli. The doctor confirmed that he is well and has not sustained any serious injury." Officials added that a case had also been registered.
Pramod's father said that he was very disgruntled at work and that the family had even told him to leave his job but he was unwilling to do so. "He was a good student and also a weightlifting champion. He was having some problems at work, which left him unhappy. We are grateful that he is well now." However, in his statement to the cops, Pramod refuted claims of attempting suicide. "He has written that he went to the edge of the bridge to throw up as he was feeling queasy and accidentally slipped," said an official.
