DICE's latest shows you how console shooting is done. It features a hugely entertaining single player game and backs it up with detailed multiplayer action. The single-player campaign feels more linear than in the first Bad Company edition, but this can be attributed to the more cinematic approach to the storytelling. The game moves along at an intense pace, with cut scenes explaining a good portion, while your squadmates will provide some banter and comic relief through the campaign's 13 missions.

You play the leader of the Bravo Two squad as it looks for a secret weapon called "Aurora", revealed in a prologue set in the Pacific Theater of World War II. The mission then moves to into Preston Marlow and takes you to a variety of locations, including Russia, the jungles of South America, and North America.

Online shooter fans will get the most out of the game, because it delivers a great multiplayer component -- you can customise a match pretty much any way you want. You can also choose from a variety of different gameplay modes (including a revised "Gold Rush" mode simply called "Rush") and maps, as well as upgrade your character with new weapons and perks, something that Call of Duty fans will love.

This one's a definite improvement over its predecessor, and a solid experience for any shooter fan. While the 7.5 hour single-player campaign could use more ammo, the multiplayer format will keep you coming back again and again.
