With the arrest of three people, Delhi Police have busted a gang involved in supply of liquor from Haryana with huge recovery. The arrested persons are Anil Kumar (20), Nanak Singh (58) and Daya Shankar (50). As many as 28 cartons of illicit liquor were recovered.

Police got the information that some liquor suppliers were illegally bringing in liquor from Haryana via Delhi and supply the same in Greater Noida, UP. With this information police arrested Anil from Sarita Vihar area of southeast Delhi in an Indica car and recovered 18 cartons containing a total 864 quarters of illicit liquor of Bagpiper whisky for sale in Haryana.

"We also got the information about supply of illicit liquor on a cycle rickshaw from Ismailpur border. We immediately apprehended Daya Shankar, the rickshaw puller and recovered 10 cartons containing 494 quarters of illicit liquor.
During interrogation the accused Anil Kumar disclosed that he and his two brothers were engaged in the business of milk supply. But as they were not making enough money from the trade, he shifted to the liquor supply business. One carton of Bagpiper whisky cost Rs 1,100 in Haryana and its sale in Greater Noida, UP gives Rs 3,500," said Ajay Chaudhary, Additional Commissioner of Police southeast district.u00a0
During police interrogation, the accused Nanak Singh, who is a bad character of police station Jaitpur, disclosed that he along with Daya Shankar (rickshaw-puller) were engaged in supply of illicit liquor from Haryana. Police recovered Indica car bearing commercial no. UP 16T 3923 and 28 cartons (total 1358 quarters) of illicit liquor (864 of Bagpiper whisky for sale in Haryana only and 494 country-made liquor for sale in Haryana only).
