Notorious criminal was giving extortion calls to Moser Baer, Samsung officials
A notorious gangster who was trying to extort money from senior officials of Moser Baer and Samsung was killed in a shootout by the Noida police late Monday evening.
Nawal Bihari alias Vinay Katiyar and his accomplice Mukesh, members of the Sundar Bhati gang, were killed in a gun battle near the Hosiery complex in Noida phase II. Bihari was staying in Lal Kuan Ghaziabad and had come to Noida for threatening the officials into paying the extortion money.
A police constable Dharmendra was also injured in the shootout.
The police was hot on the chase of Bihari after complaints from senior officials of Moser Baer and Samsung that he was threatening them for extortion.
On Monday, the police intercepted Bihari and Mukesh in a car near Kakrala village. They were cautioned to stop but the duo opened fire on the police. The fire was returned and after a brief gun battle both were killed. Bihari was carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head.
The police have also recovered a 9mm carbine and .38 bore pistol, which are exclusively used by security forces from the car. The car had different number plates on the front and rear side.
