A night of dance and making merry during Navratri turned horribly wrong for seven youth who met with an accident on the Vasai-Bhiwandi road. Six of the car's occupants died when the car lost control and rammed into the divider and hit a tempo from the opposite side while one still struggles to live in a hospital.
The occupants of the car all aged between 17 and 27 had decided to visit a garba mandal on Tuesday night in Vasai. After dancing and having fun, the youths were returning home at 2 am on Wednesday. They were speeding on the Vasai-Bhiwandi road near Nagle village when the driver of the car lost control, skidded and hit the divider. After hitting the divider, it was then hit by a tempo from the opposite side.

Inspector Pradeep Mane of Valiv police station said, "All the youths were returning from Garba when their car lost control and the accident took place. We are investigating the case."
The locals alleged unseasonal heavy rains on Tuesday night and bad road conditions may have lead to the accident. u00a0
