IF any higher education institution can be credited for undergoing a sea change, not only on the infrastructure and facilities front but also in its 'market value', it will have to be the Garware College group.
In a span of five years, the college has managed to jump from a B+ ranking to Grade A, the topmost ranking that a college can enjoy.
The college even beat the University of Pune (UoP) in its scores. On Saturday night, both the UoP and the Garware College of Commerce learnt they had received Grade A in the accreditation and assessment done by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
While the UoP, which was praised by the NAAC team as one of the country's best universities and which has always held Grade A ranking, got 3.1 grade points out of 4, Garware College of Commerce received 3.39.
Principal Shrikant Gupta said the objective assessment procedure helped the college score.
