As part of the Literature Across Frontiers workshop, a multilingual and multimedia performance called Poetry Connections at Open Space will take place in the city.

Poet and novelist Priya Sarrukai Chabria, who edits the poetry site, Open Space, could not hide the excitement from her voice, "It will be great to work with a literature group that aims to spread the joys of literature and art across countries . We were keen to bring this event to the city for the first time. We are delighted to have good poets participating in our event."u00a0

Literature Across Frontiers (LAF) is a European platform for literary exchange and translation. Poetry Connections will be held across Pune and Chennai in December 2010, and is the result of an intensive 6-day translation workshop organised by LAF.

With musical, visual and performative aspects, Poetry Connections will see several eight national and international poets interacting with each other and the audience. There will be a multimedia presentation of their work as well as an interactive session with the audience.u00a0

"Anyone who is interested in poetry, friendship and communicating with each other should turn up. It will also be for those who are keen to see something interesting in their lives. It's going to be a good meet, not only in terms of art but also for the human spirit," adds Priya. Some of the participants include Arjun Chandramohan Bali, a storyteller who applies himself across various platforms as a writer, poet and film maker; Sampurna Chattarji, an award-wining poet, fiction-writer and translator and Zo Skoulding whose recent collection of poems, Remains of a Future City, was published by Seren in 2008.
