Did you know that MTC stands for Mule Turf Club, asks RJ Prithvi, tongue firmly in cheek
One more celebrity was framed on our Birthday Bakra Hall of Fame! Bruce Lee Mani, from the popular city-based rock band Thermal and a Quarter, was on air with me on the Birthday Bakra segment (Everyday at 9:20am on 94.3 RadioOne) not realising that he was on radio! This is what happened.
I dial his number. "Bruce Lee speaking," he says in his best baritone.
"Good morning sir, I am Danny here calling from MTC," I announce.
Bruce Lee: What is MTC?
Me: Mule Turf Club sir, sister concern of the Turf Club, where donkeys from across the nation are invited for a raceu00e2u0080u00a6
Bruce Lee: Okay... Regarding?
Me: Regarding a concert for MTC sir. We were wondering if you could perform before or after the race, sir?
Bruce: But how do you think we fit in here? (Sounding really doubtful.)
Me: Yes sir, the donkeys might start braying (I demonstrate a donkey's bray), so how about being our chief guest and distributing the prizes, sir?
Bruce: (laughs) Interesting! Where is it held?
Me: (after some quick thinking) Sir, wondering if you have enough space in your neighborhood?
Bruce: Wwwhat??? Who is this?
Me: 94.3 RadioOne, Prithvvi here you are my Birthday Bakra...
He bursts out laughing. I tell him he's just won himself a pricey wristwatch for being such a sport and he gladly confessed that he enjoyed the joke!
If you want me to do a Birthday Bakra on anyone, mail in his/her details to bang@radioone.in. And yes! It's absolutely free!
