Nestled incongruously amid the huge stores of Ishanya Mall is a tiny kiosk that exhibits antique products highlighting the rich culture of the city. Set up by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Warsaa - The Heritage Shop, offers diverse products, ranging from clothes to books that are handmade by workers across Maharashtra.u00a0

Range: On display are copper utensils, decorative items, jute dresses and bags, paper bags and gift packs, cotton dresses, T-shirts, kurtis, skirts, bags, blankets, pillow covers, mojris and wooden paintings. They also offer some interesting curios, such as stone Sil-Battas (which were used to ground masalas) and herbal medicine grinders. There are a number of heritage books, in Marathi and English, on the history of Pune and other cities.

We liked: The age-old utensils in stone and brass have an old-world charm and stand out from the crowd. The cotton purses and batuas with gold zari work on them are eye-catching and reasonably priced. Though, some of the silk and cotton kurtis were over-priced, they did look elegant. The greeting cards, which featured Ganpati Bappa and other gods and goddesses, are ideal for special occasions.

At: Arcade 2, ground floor, Ishanya Mall, opposite Golf Course, Yerwada.
Call: 9975527884.
Open from Thursday to Sunday, 11 am to 8.30 pm
