In a major reshuffle, Gujarat government today transferred 26 senior IAS officers with key responsibilities in the state


Ahmedabad: In a major reshuffle, Gujarat government today transferred 26 senior IAS officers with key responsibilities in the state.

As per a notification today by the General Administration Department, Principal Secretary (PS) in Finance Department (Expenditure) L Chuaungo has been transferred and appointed in place of Pandian, who is serving as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Energy and Petrochemicals Department. In addition, Chuaungo has been given charge of the post of Managing Director (MD) of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL).

Pandian, transferred as the ACS, Industries and Mines Department, has, in addition, received charge of the post of Vice Chairman and MD of the Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation. Anil Mukim, PS with the state Revenue Department, has now been transferred as the PS of the Health and Family Welfare department.

MD of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd, JN Singh, has now been appointed as the new ACS of the Revenue Department. Commissioner of Health, Medical Services and Medical Education and ex-officio ACS in Health and Family Welfare department, PK Taneja, is transferred and appointed as the ACS of Forests and Environment department. PS in Tourism, Devasthanam Management and Pilgrimage, Vipul Mitra, has been transferred and appointed as the Director General of Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA), Ahmedabad.

Raj Gopal, MD of GUVNL, Vadodara, is now appointed as the PS of Ports and Transport department. Kamal Dayani, currently the Industries Commissioner, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Transport against JP Gupta, who is now appointed as the Commissioner of Health, Medical Services and Medical Education. As per the notification, Gupta will also hold additional charge of Mission Director, State Rural Health Mission, and Co-ordinator, Nirogi Balak project, until further orders.

Mamta Verma, currently Special Commissioner for Commercial Tax in Ahmedabad, has been transferred and appointed as the new Industries Commissioner. Pankaj Kumar, DG of SPIPA is now transferred and his services are placed at the disposal of the Ports and Transport department for appointment as Vice Chairman and MD of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, Ahmedabad. Anju Sharma, Commissioner of Woman and Child Development and secretary to the government, Women and Child Development department, is now appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA).

Anuradha Mall, MD of Gujarat Women Economic Development Corporation, is now appointed as the Commissioner of Women and Child Development as well as PS of Women and Child Development department. Sanjeev Kumar, who returned from his long-term training abroad, is now appointed as the Secretary to government, Finance Department (Expenditure). Arvind Agrawal, ACS with Tribal Development department, is now appointed as the PS with Education Department (Primary and Secondary Education). Further, Agrawal will be in overall charge of Education Department, stated the notification.

Mukesh Puri, Vice Chairman and MD of GSRTC, is now appointed as the PS in Education Department (Higher and Technical). He will also hold additional charge of the post of Commissioner of Higher Education, relieving Dr Jayanti S Ravi of the additional charge of the post. AM Tiwari, PS in Education Department (Primary and Secondary), is transferred and appointed as the MD of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd, Vadodara. Sangeeta Singh, PS in Education Department (Higher and Technical), is now the PS to government (Appeals) in Revenue Department, relieving Raj Gopal of the additional charge. Dr Jayanti S Ravi, Commissioner of Technical Education, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Labour, relieving CV Som of the additional charge of the post.
