Parents of NDA cadet refuse to believe authorities that their son died 'accidentally' last week
Parents of Nitesh Amin Gaur (19) a cadet in Khadakwasla's National Defence Academy (NDA) who died on July 2 want an explanation how their robust son died during training. According to the NDA, Gaur died after a 12 km run.
Dr Wable, head of the post mortem department of Sasoon Hospital, said, "The chemical analysis will take three months while the histopathology reports are expected in 15 days. The cause of death will be determined only after studying the two reports along with the post mortem report."
A cadet of the 121st course, Nitesh was practicing for cross-country running, an annual activity, along with 100 other cadets. Gaur's family in Bhopal said that on Julyu00a0 2 at around 3.30 pm, Nitesh had a chat with his mother and sounded very happy. His uncle Manmohan said, "Nitesh had called to say that he had been allotted his room and they shouldn't not worry. He was in a joyful mood. Shockingly, at 6 pm, NDA officials called to say he was dead."
Shocked
On July 3, when the family reached the academy, they were shocked that the authorities were unsure about the cause of his death. Manmohan added, "We asked for the provisional post mortem report, but they had no clue. We have been told that it will take a month and a half for the reports. If our son's death is unnatural, we want justice."
Major Bhagirath Dey, PRO of NDA said, "The cadet collapsed after the routine activity. The reason for death is not known as some analytical tests are needed."
A case of accidental death has been registered at Warjee police station. Investigations will begin after post mortem reports are available.
