Two months after she first visited the Oshiwara police station with her complaint, 35-year-old singer Supriya Joshi finally registered an FIR yesterday against an identified person from whom she had been receiving lewd phone calls. Like actress Pooja Bhatt's encounter a week ago, Joshi too has been receiving abusive phone calls, but from six different mobile numbers. The police officers finally registered an FIR against the caller yesterday.
A resident of Lokhandwala, Supriya told the police in her complaint that she has been getting a slew of explicit phone calls and messages from a man for two months. "On Sunday the caller messaged me saying that he wanted to have sex with me. I could not take it any more and approached the police station to file a complaint," said Supriya, adding, "I have been harassed by this caller for the past two months. I can't concentrate on work or live in peace."
The phone stalker has been calling Supriya from six different mobile numbers, making it difficult for her to discern if she should receive a call or not. The Oshiwara police have registered the complaint and are in the process of tracing the mobile phone numbers. "We are in the process of tracing the mobile numbers from which the complainant has been receiving the phone calls and we will soon arrest the caller," said an officer from Oshiwara police station.
"The police officers registered the complaint from Pooja Bhatt and arrested the caller within a day. I am fed up of the calls and want the person to be arrested as soon as possible," added Supriya. Supriya, who is trained in the Indore gharana, has also trained under legendary composers like Ravindra Jain, Suresh Wadkar, Kuldeep Singh and Ravi Jule. She has sung playback for many films, including My friend Ganesha 2.
