Writer wants chartered accountant to reveal client's high connections
The chartered accountant (CA) of Hasan Ali Khan, the city-based racehorse owner who is under the scanner for alleged tax evasion, has approached the police for protection after receiving a threat letter. The development comes just days after the Enforcement Directorate demanded police protection for the investigative team as well as Khan.
Received an anonymous threat letter
Khan's CA Sunil Shinde received a postcard from an anonymous person after the Enforcement Directorate officials raided his house and arrested Khan. The letter issued a threat to his life.

MiD DAY has a copy of the letter, which states that Khan is accused of stashing money abroad and Shinde is fully aware of his financial transactions. The letter asks Shinde to reveal the names of some prominent politicians allegedly connected to Khan. The letter writer has warned Shinde of serious consequences if he fails to do so.
Shinde's lawyer Rahul Dindokar said, "We met Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Anant Rokde in this connection and have sought police protection. "The postcard carried a couple of telephone numbers, one of them belonging to an official of the Central Bureau of Investigation. "We will investigate the matter and will give paid police protection to Shinde," Rokde said. "We will investigate the source of the letter."
