Coffee Jar is not your regular cafe; it allows you to customise and even gives you a dose of gyan along with your daily cuppa
The next time you walk along Wanowrie, watch out for the crowd hanging around the latest coffee place in the city Coffee Jar. Proprietor Cini Baig informs us that the place is a hit among students and expats, who form the bulk of their clientele.
Ambience: Apt for a cafe, the furniture is in various shades of brown. You can also get a crash course on what are coffee flowers, ripe coffee cherries, green coffee cherries and coffee beans by just scanning the pictures that hang on the walls. The owners actually encourage you to sit as long as you want, even after your coffee is over. "Our focus is on giving the customers a memorable experience," states Baig. Having spent his early years in Delhi and abroad, he chose Pune to open the cafe as it is a city of youngsters who are adventurous and open-minded.
Customised drinks: You can add a topping of your choice like Whipped Topping (Rs 25), Express Shot (Rs 20), Flavour (Rs 25) or a Decaf Shot (Rs 20). For the health-conscious, there are sugar-free versions as well, which are available at no extra cost.
Service: There is no menu card as such, so you need to check the list behind the counter and decide. The attendants were helpful.
