The police department has paid a mere Rs 5K to the constable whose eardrums got damaged due to the blast at Chinnaswamy stadiumVijay Kumar, a constable with Nandini Layout police station, got his eardrums damaged in the explosion that happened outside Chinnaswamy Stadium at around 3.15 pm yesterday. Kumar was manning Gate number 12 of the bustling stadium when he heard a loud noise.

"It came from the behind the screens when I heard the sound. Within a few moments I was on the ground," said Kumar, a father of two, who has received a measly compensation of Rs 5,000 from the State Police Department.
When asked about the paltry amount paid to him, Inspector Chandru of Nandini Layout police station, said, "I'm not aware of the compensation amount.

However, Kumar is eligible for a medical leave of about three to six months."
Meanwhile doctors have conducted all the preliminary tests on Kumar but he still has to undergo some tests by the ENT specialists at Mallya Hospital.
