A police source said that the robbers have taken a gold idol along with them. The nabbed felon is in police custody. An FIR has been lodged.

"The robber who was handed over to police by the IAS has been identified as Suzan alias Karim, a native of West Bengal. Karim is on police remand now. His two associates Prem Babu and Saleem are on the run. They have taken an idol of gold along with them. We are conducting raids to nab them," said a senior police official.
The official said that the victim lives in C Block of Pandara road area along with his family and is posted with department of chemical and petrochemical fertilizers.

"M Raman was away when the robbers struck at his house. They broke open the lock of the main door to enter inside. The robbers were ransacking the house when the IAS arrived to have lunch. Naturally, he was surprised to find the three intruders," said the senior police officer.

Seeing Raman, the robbers tried to overpower him. But Raman gave them a befitting reply and raised an alarm. Two of the robbers ran away. The officer caught hold of the third and informed the police.
"We are interrogating Suzan to locate their hide out and to check on his antecedents," stated a police official, adding that further investigations are on.
