With Google Wave, to have become the latest fad, with only about a lakh invites after its limited release on September 30, this social networking site boasts of exclusivity and exciting real-time communication.

People, who are already hooked on to this one, feel it's a great way to communicate. They admit that it is faster than the other messaging networks. So it has email, instant messaging and web chat, social networking, instant file sharing, all rolled into one. It's basically all the stuff that you do online with friends for free.

Pragati Luhadia, PR manager at RpH in Mumbai, said, "I got invited through a friend and realised that you can do so much with gwave. It is exactly how gmail started off. You need to be invited to be part of this. And there is a limitation to this, because I could not invite more than 8 people to join the network."

Luhadia added that unlike Orkut or Facebook, Google wave is a platform which will be more helpful to professionals. "I use it for sending very heavy files on email. It's a boon and I flaunt it because not too many are on gwave."

In fact, gwavers say that the networking site is great since one can convert your wave into a usable link and share it with whoever you want.

Gauri Lokare, a city-based bike enthusiast, who admitted that she has been "waving" for the last one month added, "I think the wave is going to be quite a thing. It's much easier to go about all the features and its one of the best social interfaces till date. I've been using the wave for a lot of purposes; from fixing up weekend outings with friends to having few official meetings, to sharing photographs and blogging."

Most wavers say that the site is user friendly and one can do just about anything from posting your snaps to commenting on your friends' snaps.

"Also, the conversation between a group is shown as per real time and also the playback option is very innovative and useful," she continued.

Netizens like Sarmad Hussain admit that they "like the jazzy look on the desktop. Moreover, it's easy to navigate, and touch base with the gang."

"Thankfully there's no Mafia wars in wave. So if you are here, you are bang on!" exclaimed Lokare.
