Au00a0man identified as Vinayak Ramchandra Ubhe (35) died on the spot when a vehicle knocked him down near Sai-Sayajinagar in Warje-Malwadi.
A case of accidental death was registered at the Warje-Malwadi police station. The vehicle that knocked Ubhe down could not be traced. Ubhe's relative Sunil Jori said he received an SMS from Ubhe's mobile informing him of the accident.
Later, the person who sent the message after seeing Ubhe lying motionless also came to his residence to inform him of the mishap.
Ubhe's body was brought for post-mortem to Sassoon Hospital around midnight.
