Rohit Pereira aka P-Man of Khiladi chants just one name when The GUIDE asked him for his take on the Metal Awards tomorrow

Notoriously funny P-Man turns painfully sombre when we ask him to predict winners for Sunday night's Rolling Stone Metal Awards. P-Man, who will also host the first-ever metal awards night organised by the music magazine, unabashedly admits to extreme opinions and promises that he's saved the gags for the night which will hold enough ammo for the next P-Man show. Here's P-Man's take on the big wins:

Why? Scribe's live shows have insane energy levels. They're one band who can put a smile on your face and make you clench your fist as you head bang and that's really tough
to do.
Close call: If one has to choose the winner based on the sheer hard work and the international recognition that's come with it, I'd pick Demonic Resurrection. They've pushed the bar way better than anyone else.

Demonic Resurrection - The unrelenting surge of vengeance
Inner Sanctum - Quarantine
Scribe - DemonPra
P-Man's pick: I don't like any of the songs actually, but if I had to pick one, it would be DemonPra (Scribe).
Why? The track is technically far more superior and the songwriting is near-perfect.

Why? The sheer intensity and versatility that he brings to the genre are reasons enough. I want to drink what he's drinking, smoke what he's smoking and eat what he's eating.

Why? Prashant doesn't need an award and it's useless to have others in the category when he's in the list, and he knows that too. Nobody can come close to his technical prowess. Whether it's technique, knowledge of gear or even songwriting, Prashant is right up there.

Why? None of the others stand out and technically Srinivas has to be as tight to match Scribe's calibre.

P-Man's pick: Virendra Kaith (Demonic Resurrection)
Why? Call it a totally biased opinion but Virendra is the country's best metal drummer. I've played with him in PDV (Pin Drop Violence) and he was underrated then but is getting his due now finally. He plays with so many bands and brings so many different styles to his music. Virendra is a band by himself.
