Owned and operated by the original Pappi Singh and partner who started Only Parantha in Lokhandwala way back in 2000, Oye Punjabi has some delectable samosas for the suburbanites. Meat lovers can try the Chicken Samosa. Far from dripping in oil, these are tasty as hell. The filling has just the right amount of spice, and is ultra chatpata. Veggies can go for Cheese and Paneer Samosa.
Brijwasi Sons
At: 7 Dadi House, Juhu-Irla Road, next to Alfa, Vile Parle (W). Call: 26713118
Cost: Rs 10 for a plate of two samosas
If you're shopping at Alfa, the whiff of piping hot samosas from Brijwasi Sons is hard to miss. Though the ambience is not much to speak of, what with the hellish Vile Parle traffic and not much place to sit, the samosa is worth it. The reasonably priced plate is served with spicy green and tangy imli chutney.
