If you are fond subtle jewellery, which can make you look classy and stylish, then a trip to Malaka Spice might in order. The restaurant is exhibiting jewellery by designer Leena Gavande who retails under the brand name of Bindurekha. Her collection includes earrings, rings, bracelets, Bali-earrings and sets.u00a0
On display are a wide range jewellery pieces in semi-precious stones, silver, natural pearls and exotic beads. "This is my new collection and I keep organising such activities at various places across the city."
Leena took up jewellery designing as a hobby a year ago and it soon turned into a full-fledged profession for her. "I used to design pieces for myself initially. After working in HR for over a decade, I decided to pursue my hobby further. Today, my collections are retailed at five stores in Pune and Mumbai," she says.
But she assures us that all her designs are original. "The designs are not heavy-duty jewellery. If people expect kundan or heavy gold pieces, then they might be disappointed. Over the last one year, I have realised that I have a limited market. My products are niche and will not be preferred by all," she added.
