'Deshdrohi'. The film, which did very well in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, proved the ticket to fame in the Mumbai film industry for this man often referred to as KRK (akin to Shah Rukh's SRK).
Though he refused to be called an icon for the 'Bhaiyas', KRK still loves courting controversy. His next, a biopic on murdered Noida teenager Aarushi Talwar, goes to prove the point. And the case which continues to baffle the best detectives in the country will be unraveled with the release of the film. Or so, claims Kamal.
Titled 'Aarushiu00a0- The love story', the film will go on the floor next month. "The movie will reveal the killer," claimed Khan.
"After 'Deshdrohi', I was looking for a real life subject which will have an international appeal. As the Aarushi case generated nationwide curiosity, I started investigating the case on my own. For the last five months, I am probing every detail of the case. Based upon the extensive investigations, we will show the face of the killer," he said.
When asked how did he carry out the probe, Khan explained that the went through all the theories given by the media, the details and claims by the investigating agencies, the narco and lie detector tests, the claims by Aarushi's parents and other related activities. The movie will release in December this year.
"I have met friends and neighbours of Aarushi and also CBI and Noida police officers during the course of writing the script of the movie. Some of Aarushi's friends, who are also added on my Facebook account, have given me some leads that Aarushi had three-four boyfriends which might have been the reason behind her murder," the filmmaker said.
The movie will be shot in parts of Delhi and Mumbai. "I am playing the role of the police officer who is investigating the case. Veteran actor Kabeer Bedi will play Dr Rajesh Talwar, Aarushi's father, and I will ask Poonam Dhillon to play the role of Nupur Talwar."
