IT giant sees a huge jump in clients at the leaner end of the turnover scale Smart cookies: Infy has added new million-dollar clients
Infosys is doing more business with small companies than with mega corporations, its just-released balance sheet indicates.
Released on April 15, the balance sheet has details of the number of million dollar clients the company has had in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
In the range of 1 to 20 million dollars, clients have gone up by over 50.
New clients
Infosys has added new clients in other segments, but these gains have not been spectacular.
For instance, the number of 50 million dollars-plus and 60 million dollars-plus companies went up by just two and three respectively.
The increase in the number of 30 million-plus and 40 million-plus companies, while not as low as the 50 million-plus and 60-million plus companies, was also decent.
The number of 30 million-plus companies went up by seven from 32 to 39, while eight companies were added in the 40 million-plus companies, taking the total from 22 to 30.
Falling biggies
Infy has just one client in the $300 million-plus range, and while this company accounted for 9.1 per cent of revenues last year, it accounts for only 6.9 per cent as of 31 March 2009.
