AFTER launching the innovative lab at the Pune Institute of Computer Technology last year, Amdocs opened its second such lab at the Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) yesterday.
The labs, equipped with high-end hardware and software provided by Amdocs, selects outstanding students through rigorous selection process to enter mentorship program led by senior IT professionals at Amdocs.

Revealing future plans, Shrirang Bapat, VP, Products Business Group, Amdocs India, said, "As the focus of the world is on India and China, we have started the project in India and will soon replicate it worldwide."
Anshoo Gaur, Head of Amdocs (India) told MiD DAY, "The practical side is largely missing in engineering education. So, the emphasis is on the industry-academia links.
Amdocs has also set up links with Oxford University and Technion in Israel and have acquired a company called Changing The Worlds, which has a joint venture of University of Dublin."
