Reel star Upendra is all set to play a radio jockey in real life in a private FM station from January 11 to February 11 - a first for any Sandalwood star. While others term his move an attempt to attract cheap publicity, Upi says he is merely trying to interact with and inspire his fans.u00a0
"Yes, I will be on air for 30 minutes. I will be an RJ and interact with fans," said Upendra. Fans are elated. "This is amazing. We have been seeing Upi on screen. Now we can talk and share our feelings with him," said Santhosh Gowda, a fan. "It's a unique platform to express myself. The actor's detractors are, however, unwilling to dub his latest move as anything but attention seeking. "This is yet another attempt to gain publicity. As FM radios are popular, he will use them to promote his new ventures," said a leading actor on condition of anonymity.u00a0
