The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Maharashtra questioned Ajit Pawar nephew of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief for two hours in the alleged irrigation scam.
Pawar who was also the former deputy chief minister of state along with Water Resources Minister of the state when the alleged scam took place in which irrigation dam projects prices were escalated and the ACB suspects large amount of corruption was questioned.
"Pawar and Sunil Tatkare also the former NCP minister were questioned. While Tatkare was questioned on Tuesday, Pawar was interrogated today for two hours," said a ACB officer who is part of the Special Investigation Team(SIT) formed by Thane Wing of ACB to Investigate the irrigation scam.
However sources said Pawar and Tatkare both chooses to appear themselves before the agency only after Pravin Dixit was transferred out of ACB as Director General of Police and Vijay Kamble appointed.
Pawar answered to the ACB questions with the help of his lawyer and left within two hours. Sources said the investigations in both the irrigation scam and Maharashtra Sadan scam has slowed down with BJP requiring the help of NC anytime as its allies Sena and it does not hold any good relations now.
Mumbai will also have next year BMC elections.
