Central Crime Branch sleuths arrested Mohiddin Khan (58), a native of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, and his associates Chandrakanth (42) and Ashok (30) of Hassan district, after Khan tried to sell a pistol near Kengeri Gate hotel on Cottonpet Main road on Tuesday.u00a0

Assistant Commissioner of police, B N Nyamegowda and his team nabbed Khan, who had been living in Mandya, and recovered Rs 300, a mobile phone and some voters ID card from him. "We are trying to verify Khan's record to ascertain why he was living in Bangalore, when he hails from Kashmir, and how he came in contact with Chandrakanth and Ashok who are from Hassan," said an officer.


The CCB has filed a case with the Cotton Pet police.

While police sources said the seized gun was a sophisticated pistol costing Rs 1 lakh, ACP Nyamagowda said it was a country-made katta that did not cost more than Rs 3,000.

During interrogation, Khan said he was from Jammu and Kashmir.
