Janata Dal (Secular) has demanded a ban on right-wing extremist organisations like Sri Ram Sene and Bajrang Dal in view of the attacks on girls in a pub in Mangalore and the recent attack on an MLA's daughter.
Party leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy expressed concern over the increasing attacks on women in Mangalore.
Referring to home minister V S Acharya's direction to his officials to find the "whereabouts" of the boy who was accompanying the Kerala MLA's daughter who was attacked by suspected Sene men," he said: "the home minister is politically inactive. He seems to have given a free hand to extremists to take law into their hands."
