Reveals details of affair to former girlfriend's prospective in-laws

Hell hath no fury as a lover scorned. In this case, it was 23-year-old Amol Waghmare who couldn't handle a woman's (name changed to protect identity) rejection. He beat her up, snatched her mobile, called her future in-laws and narrated intimate details of their affair.

End result? The engagement was called off.

The Hadapsar police arrested Waghmare after his girlfriend lodged a complaint.

According to the police, this incident happened last Sunday when Waghmare, a resident of Ahmednagar informed her of his arrival in Pune. They then decided to meet near Hadapsar bus stop.

It was then that the 24-year-old woman allegedly informed Waghmare that she had decided to go ahead and get married according to her parents' wishes.

An agitated Waghmare slapped her and snatched her phone. She then lodged a complaint with the Hadapsar Police station. The calls were traced to Ahmednagar.

PSI Dwarka Doke and her team went to Ahmednagar to Waghmare's residence soon after which he surrendered at Hadapsar police station on Tuesday.

u00a0While Waghmare insists that the woman in question was his girlfriend, she firmly denies it.

Senior Police Inspector Pandharinath Mandhare said, "According to the girl they were just friends. But he hurt her and also snatched her cell phone. He then called up the girl's fiance's parents and told them about their involvement, which was untrue according to the girl."

Waghmare will be produced before the court on Wednesday.
