Dottedi is in the business of throwing surprises for anyone who likes a twist in their gifts
If you meet 24-year-old entrepreneur Naadia Mirza for the first time, she will instantly remind you of the character of Shruti Kakkar (Anushka Sharma) from this year's surprise hit Band Baaja Baaraat. Like Kakkar who is a wedding planner since she was in school, Mirza has been in the business of throwing birthday surprises since the age of 16.u00a0 She also shows off albums full of photographs of these parties as enthusiastically as Kakkar does in the film to Bittu Sharma (Ranveer Singh's) character.

Mirza has been throwing themed birthday parties right through college and has launched her brand Dotted i as the next step. Under the brand, Mirza throws together surprise birthdays and other themed parties, whips up cakes, cookies and chocolates for various occasions, does food gift hampers and trousseau packing and even arranges for gifting experiences.
When asked about the story behind her brand name, Mirza says, "The name comes from the idiom Dot your I's, Cross your T's which translates to being very careful and paying attention to the tiniest of details." The tagline accompanying the brand name says "The Devil is in the Details," which is again a reference to paying attention to detail because that's where you tend to make mistakes, a phrase Mirza has borrowed from the world of accounting.

Mirza, who has done her Bachelors in Business Management, was a corporate pusher till sometime back before she decided to do her Masters in Creative Businesses from Manchester, UK.u00a0 Doing this course opened up the world for her and she decided to start a one stop solution for all things creative in town. And her motto: "The idea is to surprise people as much as possible by creating something really personalised for every client," says Mirza.
Dotted i is going online soon in the form of a shop where you can also buy, scented tea lights, shot glasses and magnets with funky messages on them and Dare to Do Activity cardsu00a0 Doing cakes is perhaps the biggest business right now for Dottedi with Mirza making cute cupcakes with baby shower related sugar craft on them, printed photographs cake,u00a0 and for designer wear and brand junkies she will even whip up a monogrammed Louis Vuitton bag or suitcase.
Mirza has tied up with ten home bakers across the city who bake these goodies for her. Dotted i is currently also catering to Mumbai and Delhi where they have similar bakery tie ups and will deliver cakes to your doorstep. For the rest, you can order a couple of days in advance and Mirza will courier stuff to you.
