Do you believe in ghosts?
I am a spiritual person. I believe in aatma and one force that is guiding everybody. Very few people have experiences with ghosts and I do not want to believe that they can enter our frequency. I believe in scientific explanations.

What is your favourite childhood ghost story?
My great-grandmother used to tell me stories about how a neighbour used to do black magic on my dadi and how she contracted some disease. My grandfather used to interrupt her and say, "You are spreading these stories because you do not get along with anyone, that lady is very sweet."u00a0
Have you ever played a prank?
Yes. I used hide behind the door and jump out and scare my chachi when she walked by, holding a cup of tea. I was a lot into wearing masks also. And of course I used to scare my brother and sister.
What is your greatest fear?
That one day my life would end and I would not have done something significant. I want to pursue my spiritual journey, my search for truth, get answers to my questions questions that have been bothering human kind. Professionally there are so many things I want to do. I want to do roles that make a difference to Indian cinema.
Most of the women in Dabboo Ratnani's calendar are showing more skin than you, yet your photo is the one being talked about.
That is surprising. Today I got calls from my friends who are big actors and they said that it's a very bold photo but it looks like a painting. I told Dabboo that I cannot give horny looks. If I was a man, I would like women who did not invite me. I am not trying to look sexy; it's very subtle. Many actresses give horny looks, it looks slutty.
What did Adhyayan think about it?
He loved it! He said, "Oh, my God! Now everybody will know you have a mole on your right breast." (Laughs)
There were reports that his parents were not too keen about this relationship.
There was no rejection, just misunderstanding. We (Adhyayan and Kangana) were still getting to know each other. I thought we could be friends first. But the media declared that we were seeing each other. That's when the parents wanted to know what was happening, but we ourselves did not know what we were doing. We decided we would not come under pressure.
You asking Adhyayan out was quite a bold move.
Who told you that? I never asked him out! Adhyayan was after me for six months. He is so filmy he comes with chocolates, flowers and stuffed toys and holds his arms open for me. I am a practical girl and find all this funny. We might both be 21-year-olds, but actually I am 80 and he is 13. But he is not manipulative. I was attracted to his innocence.u00a0u00a0
Are you this generation's Meena Kumari the tragedy queen?
I do not do these roles deliberately. People like my work and I am happy about it. I don't make movies to watch in my bedroom. Some actresses have a sexy image; I want to have this image.
Fashion has not been nominated for a lot of awards.
I think it's really unfair.
What's your equation with Jiah Khan now (after their row over the role in Ghajini)?
I don't get to meet her. Everybody asks what's your equation with Kareena, Jiah. I don't even want to talk about this.
How is it being in Kites with Hrithik?
He is very nice and is also fond of me.
