Police all praise for school bus driver and security guard for foiling abduction bid and catching kidnappers

Au00a0case of kidnapping was filed late last night against two men caught earlier in the day when their attempt to abduct a five-year-old student of Spicer School was foiled by a school bus driver and a school security guard.

The Chatuhshrungi police arrested the two men who had tried to kidnap five-year-old Kishan Vishal Sharma with the intention of demanding a ransom from his father.

The accused were identified as Sajid Taufiq Khan (18) and Rafan Zulfikar Khan (20), both residents of Tuljabhawani Nagar, Pimple Gurav.

The police praised the presence of mind shown by school bus driver Kailas Raghunath Sonawane and security guard Raju Maruti Shinde from Aundh's Spicer School.

The boy, a resident of Himali Bungalow at Pallod Farm in Baner, is a KG student of Spicer School.

"The accused had taken a picture of Kishan on Monday after school. School bus driver Sonawane promptly informed Kishan's parents of this on the same day. On Tuesday afternoon the accused later grabbed Kishan after school and started running away with the boy. Sonawane with the help of Shinde chased the two and rescued Kishan," said Police Sub-Inspector A N Narute.

The accused were handed over to the Chatuhshrungi police. Late in the night, the case of kidnap was filed and the accused sent to the Faraskhana police station lock-up.
