As Anna Hazare's indefinite fast for Jan Lokpal Bill entered its second day in his hometown Ralegan Siddhi, the ant-corruption crusader yesterday called on the youth to join him in his movement.
"The youth should get into this agitation and show their strength to the government. The government and opposition parties must pass this bill immediately, else people of this country will show them their place in the upcoming elections."
Meanwhile, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi met with Anna yesterday. She inquired of his health discussed various issues, including his agenda on the agitation. She later said that she would be joining Anna in his fast from Saturday.
"Till now in my entire life I have never sat for a fast in any of the agitations, but now the time has come to do so and I will join Anna. The government is not keeping its promise of passing the bill in the Parliament. All political leaders are only saying we will pass the bill since the last agitation of Anna, but it has not happened yet. Anna is not alone and the common man is with him to bring the Jan Lokpal Bill," Bedi said.
Speaking about the upcoming elections, she said, "In the elections next year, the people should change this government. And the new government will pass this bill and create new history."
In a show of support, college students took out a rally to the tehsildar's office in Parner, which is located close to Ralegan Siddhi. u00a0
