The adage, politics makes for strange bedfellows, came true once again on Sunday at the mega NDA rally in Ludhiana.

Kya Jodi Hain: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumaru00a0 during the NDA rally in Ludhiana, Punjab, on Sunday |
After having categorically stated that he would not share stage with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Nitish Kumar did exactly the opposite at the NDA show-of-strength.
Not only did the two leaders stand on the same platform, they held hands and posed for perfect dostana moments.
Sharing the dais with his counterpart for the first time, Modi, too had only words of praise for Kumar.
Immediately after his arrival, Modi held Nitish's hand and raised their clasped fists in the air to prove that there were no differences between the two.
Interestingly, this show of friendship comes after polling is over in Bihar and there is no chance of the JD-U losing Muslim votes for Kumar's apparent closeness with Modi.
Sweeping aside all speculation about his switching sides, Kumar sat with top NDA leaders. The hopes of the Congress and the Left too woo Kumar, seemed in a disarray.
While both the leaders criticised the UPA, Modi sealed his new-found friendship with Kumar by praising the Bihar chief minister for his "developmental work in the state."u00a0
Before leaving, Modi once again went over to Kumar, spoke to him and shook hands. May be he said, "Yeh dosti, hum nahi todenge!"
