Two LCD monitors were stolen from the office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour and Employment. The office is located on the fifth floor of Shram Shakti Bhawan, which is in a high security zone of New Delhi district. Two police personnel are reportedly deployed at the building.
Parliament Street police is investigating the matter. Cops told this reporter that Ajay Joshi, an administrative official with the ministry, complained to the police regarding the theft of the computer monitors.
"The computers were stolen from room number 505 and 506. We were surprised to know that the thief reached the fifth floor of the building. The door locks of both rooms were found broken by the official who discovered the theft. After the police were informed, a team visited the spot. Later, an FIR was filed at the Parliament Street police station," said a senior police officer. The police is suspecting the role of an insider as entry into the Bhavan is not easy.
When this reporter visited the spot, he was stopped by two police personnel at the entry gate. One of them, asked the reporter the reason of his visit. When he expressed his wishes to enter the premises he was asked to display a PIB card.
