The active breakfast buffet not only spoils you for choice, it leaves you feeling light and guilt-free because itu00a0 has been designed for calorie-counters.
Cornflakes, muesli, a selection of fruit and steamedu00a0 veggies like broccoli, served with tomatoes and lettuce, comprise the "active" section of the menu.
"The idea is to provide food, which gives you enough energy for the day, tastes good and has minimum oil and saturated fats. Most of the food we have here is low on the glycemic index. Having food with low GI helps people control weight, manage diabetes and keep cholesterol levels under check," says Naren Thimmaiah.
In order to ensure that those who love hearty breakfasts are not disappointed, there are nutritious kichidis and wholesome porridges.
I started my active day with fruit and a blueberry muffin. Goey chocolate doughnuts, stashed in neat piles,u00a0 warm loaves of white bread and alu-pav had me wide-eyed and I'm still wondering how they figure in the chef's scheme of things for weight-watchers!
The Indian section had idlis with spicy chutneys. The sambhar, sadly, lacked character. I rounded off my meal with a papaya smoothie, which didn't taste divine, but I was assured it would do wonders for my digestive and circulatory system! You could opt for green tea or jasmine tea.
