Eleven IPS officers await transfers and promotions as additional principal secretary angles for a prominent post in new administrative setup
The transfer and promotion letters of 11 senior IPS officers await the signatures of Additional Principal Secretary Chandra Iyengar. Senior police officials said Iyengar is in the race for the principal secretary's post, which is keeping her from attending to routine duties. Meanwhile, three senior officers who have been relieved from their old posts, have gone on leave without pay, and await fresh orders on new postings from the Home Secretariat.
On Monday, Iyengar told this reporter that she would not be able to comment because she was home as it was a holiday (Gurunanak Jayanti), and asked to be contacted during office hours, the next day. Yesterday, she said, "I am in the middle of something. I won't be able to comment on the issue." DCP Ravindra Sengaonkar and DCP J D Supekar are among the 11u00a0 officers awaiting fresh postings. Said DCP Sengaokar, "I have not received my relieving or transfer order." DCP Supekar refused to
comment.
Interestingly, the Maharashtra Government website, mentions that DCP Sengankar would be transferred to Beed as police superintendent and Supekar would take charge as DCP Zone XII in Mumbai. DCP Ajit Patil would take charge as DCP of Zone IV in Pune.
