The derailment though has affected evening rush hour services with trains on the harbour line likely to be behind schedule by around 20 to 25 minutes.

The note further said that the cause of the derailment seemed to be a huge bundle of clothes dropped on the track, apparently by a trespasser.

Officials said that harbour line traffic had to be diverted via the main line as power lines were switched off as a precautionary measure.
