Sing to win

If you are one of those people who only dares to sing while in the shower, here's your chance to show the world that you can sing and in tune too.

At this night spot in the Creek, Carlton Braganza will host the KroaKnight (named after their mascot a frog).

Get footloose and you are free to holler, dance with joy, jump around and croon your favourite songs out to an eager beaver audience.u00a0

Tribute to an angel

In a live act that pays tribute to the late Gina Braganza, cult Kolkata-based band Skinny Alley will hit centre stage.

Called Jukebox for Gina, the band will perform a tribute to the bubbly and vivacious Gina Braganza. The proceeds from the show will go to the Gina Forever Foundation.

Jukebox for Gina has a unique format. You get to choose and buy a song of your choice from jazz, pop, and dance playlists and Skinny Alley will play it for you.

The band formed in 1996 comprises of Jayashree Singh on vocals, Amyt Datta on guitars, Jivraj Singh on drums and Gyan singer on bass.

This is perhaps India's only band where all members of a family are band mates (Jivraj Singh is the son of Jayashree and Gyan Singh) and Kolkata's oldest band.

Their sound is an eclectic mix of rock to reggae to funk to fusion to pop and blues.

The band has several years of experience in playing to a houseful crowd and have played to a very unusual audience, one of them being a family with underworld connections at a secret location. Gangsta style we say!

At Opus, Palace Road
