Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal visited rain-affected areas in Yeola and Sinnar tehsils of the district yesterday and took stock of losses in a meeting with officials concerned.
Bhujbal, who is also Guardian Minister of Nashik district, distributed cheques of Rs one lakh each to the next of the kin of four persons, including three women, who died in separate rain-related incidents.
The NCP leader also handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 to Samadhan Bodke, whose relative Shivaji Bodke lost live in a rain-related incident.
Eleven persons were injured, while four cows and two bullocks were killed in this North Maharashtra district, which experienced heavy unseasonal rain a few days ago, an official release said here today.
