Maharana Arvind Singh of Mewar was in the capital on Friday to attend a show presented by Jaipur-based designer Himmat Singh Panwar, on the first day of the India Mens Week. Accompanied by FDCI president Sunil Sethi, the Maharana walked in a bit late. Himmat Singh's collection, scattered with royal turbans and Jodhpuri pants, seems to have gone down with the Maharana, as he was spotted clapping at a couple of garments.

When the designer walked in for a final bow, he touched the Maharana's feet during what seems to be an act where he was prodded by Sethi.

"Himmat depicted the tradition of Rajasthan aptly and I liked his collection. There was a great amalgamation of tradition and modernity in his designs. I believe you cannot always stick to tradition, evolution is indispensable. I can't help but appreciate Himmat's eye for detail, especially in his turban designs," The Maharana said when we caught him making a hasty exit.
