Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh met West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday.
The meet came a day after the government made public the draft of the Land Acquisition Bill.
Ramesh said that the bill would address Banerjee's concerns of compensation and will maintain a minimum prescribed relief and rehabilitation package.
Banerjee is reported to have said, the new draft was positive, and her government would not acquire land forcibly.
