Creativity and man-woman relationship are two separate but intertwined concepts. Any attempt to give a structure to these two is always a difficult task, and often kills the joy that is associated with the journey.
Pune playwright and actress, who is currently in the limelight for playing the role of Dadasaheb Phalke's wife, in Harishchandrachi Factory, Vibhavari Deshpande makes an effort to bring out the abstractness and also draws a parallel between these two concepts in her upcoming experimental play Enigma. The play will open on Saturday at Sudarshan Hall.
Vibha explains, "It is a courageous play and we are saying things in the way we want them to be said."
Creative journey
The play's director, Padmanabh Bind, added, "There is no specific structure to this play. As a director, I have taken the liberty to enact those scenes that are shown being written by both the writers.
We have tried different elements in stage designing. For stage designing, Sachin Bhilare has used the concept of Golden point a concept which is believed to be the crux of 2D."
Commenting on the parallel between a man-woman relationship and the creative process in general, Vibha said, "We feel that by giving a name or a frame to things will be better and we will be more comfortable. But even after doing so, we are often as confused and bewildered as we were before starting the whole process. It is often the processes that give us the happiness."
