Bhosari resident, Lata Pradhan got a shock when she saw 10-12 unknown men flee after assaulting her husband with a sharp-edged weapon. They fled in a white Sumo that had no number plate.

Pradhan screamed for help after all residents of Khandevasti in Bhosari area gathered around her. Pradhan said the incident took place at 11 pm, when the couple was sleeping with their children in their shanty. Suddenly she heard a knock at her door and the person who was standing outside told her husband that there was job available for him.

Her husband Aambadas Pradhan (40) stepped outside to talk to him. Even after ten minutes he did not come back. When she went outside, shesaw her husband lying in a pool of blood screaming for help. It was then that Lata saw the vehicle vanishing in darkness. Pradhan was admitted to YCM Hospital.

She said, "My husband who works as a security guard was looking for a job, and I thought the person may have come to suggest one. So, I did not intervene. But these people had a different motive behind calling him outside. He had no enmity with anyone. But he had fights with people overu00a0 drinking water. There were two groups formed in Khandewasti over this demand." A case of assault has been registered at Bhosari police station.
